There is no way for a beginner real estate investor to be successful in this tough business without the right knowledge. Because information rules in our days, you need to find yourself good real estate trainers who will walk you through all the details involved in this business. I’m not actually going to discuss the topic of becoming an agent; because real estate investing is what we’re trying to teach in this blog and that’s the same thing you should pursue if you want to have more control and freedom over your income. Because there are gazillion of training courses out there, I know that it’s going to be hard for a starter to determine what real estate trainers they should proceed with, and that’s the main reason for this post.

I know that many people would argue with me on the fact that real estate investing needs tough life lessons in order to be learnt correctly. However, I can assure you that the right training will save you a lot of headache and give you a head start on your competition. The only thing I feel responsible to tell you about is “don’t you ever fall into the information overload trap”. The reason for this warning is that our minds got accustomed to absorbing information without executing it and by that you’ll end up with a precious non compiled and untested knowledge. To avoid this, you should execute every tip you get from your real estate trainers before you move to another one. In order for us to help you choose the best real estate training program available, here are 5 tips to help you do that:

1- Check your state law:

By this I mean checking if the real estate training you’re going into is approved by your state law. I can’t imagine that you go into a training to find out that it’s useless in terms of certificate. While in most cases a real estate investor doesn’t need a certificate to invest in properties, there are some states that define which act needs a license and which one doesn’t, so you need to make sure of that first.

2- Check them in review websites:

This is probably the best way to determine if a course is suitable for you or not. While there are many paid reviews on the web that are meant to mislead you, you need to read the description of their products carefully. When I search for real estate trainers, I usually seek negative reviews. If you ask me why, I’ll tell you that this is the only way to determine if a trainers is reputable and legit or not (as I told you, positive reviews always raise red flags about whether these are paid or not).

3- Check for previous feedback:

Human feedback is also a great way to determining the effectiveness of a training programs (as they say, if it worked for them, then there is almost no reasons it won’t for you). Asking for honest feedback from past members will give you a clearer picture about the real estate trainers who will help you achieve your investing goals. With today’s web (social media), it became very easy to get recommendation from friends and colleagues on a specific training program.

4- Check for online presence:

By online presence I mean checking their website, Twitter profile, Facebook fan page, Youtube channel…etc. Online presence is almost impossible to fake, especially with today’s web conditions. If you find a good following base that is interacting and sharing information, then it’s mainly because these real estate trainers are what’s they tell you they are.

5- How much is your budget:

I’m mentioning this one at last because I really don’t want you to let price hold you back from going into a training. Online trainings are always cheaper then offline ones, so make sure you make use of that as well. While you really get what you pay for, there are some really good trainings out there that will definitely fit your budget. Also, I like continuity trainings because for a small fee you pay each month, you get up to date information about what’s happening in your industry.

It’s true that some unfortunate real estate investors always stumble on low quality trainings, but they eventually find good real estate trainers who suit their needs and budget.
